One line to run them all: SuperEasy massive neutrino linear response in ????-body simulations

چکیده

We present in this work a novel and yet extremely simple method for incorporating the effects of massive neutrinos cosmological $N$-body simulations. This so-called "SuperEasy linear response" approach is based upon analytical solutions to collisionless Boltzmann equation clustering free-streaming limits, which are then connected by rational function interpolation with cosmology-dependent coefficients given algebraic expressions model parameters. The outcome {\it one-line modification} gravitational potential that requires only cold matter density contrast as real-time input, can be incorporated into any code Particle--Mesh component no additional implementation cost. To demonstrate its power, we implement SuperEasy publicly available \gadgetcode{} code, show neutrino mass sums not exceeding $\sum m_\nu \simeq 1$ eV, total power spectra sub-1\% sub-0.1\% agreement those from state-of-the-art response simulations literature. Aside minimal cost, compared existing simulation methods, has better memory efficiency, incurs runtime overhead relative standard $\Lambda$CDM simulation, post-processing. nature allows limited computational resources diverted modelling other physical interest, e.g., baryonic physics via hydrodynamics.

One to rule them all

The development of transposon-based genome manipulation tools can benefit greatly from understanding transposons' inherent regulatory mechanisms. The Tc1-mariner transposons, which are being widely used in biotechnological applications, are subject to a self-inhibitory mechanism whereby increasing transposase expression beyond a certain point decreases the rate of transposition. In a recent pap...

One Stack to Run Them All - Reducing Concurrent Analysis to Sequential Analysis under Priority Scheduling

We present a reduction from a concurrent real-time program with priority preemptive scheduling to a sequential program that has the same set of behaviors. Whereas many static analyses of concurrent programs are undecidable, our reduction enables the application of any sequential program analysis to be applied to a concurrent real-time program with priority preemptive scheduling.

One entropy function to rule them all

We study the entropy of extremal four dimensional black holes and five dimensional black holes and black rings is a unified framework using Sen’s entropy function and dimensional reduction. The five dimensional black holes and black rings we consider project down to either static or stationary black holes in four dimensions. The analysis is done in the context of two derivative gravity coupled ...

GILBO: One Metric to Measure Them All

We propose a simple, tractable lower bound on the mutual information contained in the joint generative density of any latent variable generative model: the GILBO (Generative Information Lower BOund). It offers a data independent measure of the complexity of the learned latent variable description, giving the log of the effective description length. It is well-defined for both VAEs and GANs. We ...

vPipe: One Pipe to Connect Them All!

Many enterprises use the cloud to host applications such as web services, big data analytics and storage. One common characteristic among these applications is that, they involve significant I/O activities, moving data from a source to a sink, often without even any intermediate processing. However, cloud environments tend to be virtualized in nature with tenants obtaining virtual machines (VMs...
